JUDOKAA MARTIAL ARTS GRAND REOPENING

Judokaa Martial Arts

The following letter is the action plan to the normal return to martial arts classes for the children and adults in our local area, First and foremost I must express the damage I feel this quarantine has done to the children in the Whitby area. Just yesterday I saw premier Ford talking about that very issue.
Judokaa Martial Arts are planning to follow the action plan put forth by Judo Ontario as well as meeting up with the Whitby By-Law to answer a few questions no one can answer at this time. We are planning to open this coming week with classes by appointment only. As well to this more classes are planned in order to maintain the small class size.
Having said that here are the basic plans subject to changing conditions as well as subject to the meeting with By-Law. We are in Phase 1 at this time so the action plan will be based on this fact. Judokaa will draft up an action plan for each Phase and this document will only address Phase 1.
Judokaa will also place a few things in this action plan in red as they might change as that action will require By-Law to approve in out meeting. Many local areas in other places in Ontario have small changes to the Judo Ontario plan and we are seeing if these can be approved as well and we are going to explain the reason we see this as an advantage.
1. Parents are being asked to drop off the kids and when doing so wear face protection
2. We are going to ask By-Law if parents can be placed behind a plastic Curtain or even just one parent to help monitor the class. As we deal with minors it was a Judokaa policy to always have two adults when an instructor is with the kids. The dojo is monitored with CCTV as well
3. Class size to remain at 9 students one instructor
4. We need to know if a family has 3 kids in the program does this count as one of the 9
5. The Class will consist of Individual exercises only with social distance
6. Wearing a mask is mandatory on entry and exiting of the dojo. The wearing of the mask is optional once the individual has been assigned to their practice area. If wearing a mask during practice the practice should be of low intensity.
7. Respecting the prevention instructions
8. Judokaa is planning to have the kids watch judo videos as well as social distance when doing so
9. Break falls and rolls by individual student
10. Please read and understand the document RETURN TO JUDO POST COVID-19 GUIDELINES put out by Judo Ontario we will print the last page and parents are asked to sign it.
11. All members on the mats MUST be members of Judo Ontario and a checklist will be maintained if By-Law requests it at any time.
12. Judokaa will NOT be taking on any new students at this time only exciting members
13. Sanitation will take place after each class of the mat’s area
14. Students will be asked to use the hand sanitizer stations at the beginning and end of class or anytime needed.
15. Washrooms are for emergencies only
16. Students must come in uniform (Most already do adults are asked to do the same)
17. Judo Gi’s must be washed after each class
18. Temperatures will be taken and logged as well as a few questions asked before each class
19. Temperatures as well as compliance will be recorded if By-Law request it
20. Are family members that live together able to start at Phase 2????
