When we first started the club at our present location there was no seating for the parents. The martial arts clubs that trained out of this location asked the parents not to be there during the class. This of course is a preference of the instructor at the time.
We at Judokaa believe in an “open door policy” which means the parents are more than welcome even encouraged to be present at the classes. It’s great for a child first learning the ropes and makes everyone feel more comfortable.
We do ask that the parents refrain from yelling at the kids as we don’t want them side tracked and that’s our job, not the yelling but keeping your child online and interested. We do not believe that negative reinforcements such as yelling help a child develop Judo skills.
